Explore Australian slang words and phrases with the Ask Larry app. Search for a particular slang term or find one using regular English words. For example, searching for happy will bring up five hits including as happy as Larry, a phrase meaning perfectly satisfied, content. Doing a reverse search on satisfied or content will also bring up the phrase as happy as Larry.

Ask Larry contains slang terms from the early days of White settlement in Australia to the present day, including rhyming slang. Some terms will be familiar, some will be obsolete and unfamiliar, but many will be irreverent, ironic, down to earth, amusing or all of the above.

New in version 2.0 is a word or phrase of the day, a daily slang quiz and the Ask Larry widget.

Who is this Larry anyway? Laurence Larry Foley (1849 - 1917) was an Australia boxer and is said to be the Larry in the phrase as happy as Larry. He sounds like a great Aussie bloke so weve chosen him to represent our app.

Ask Larry is rated 17+ because it contains explicit words and phrases that may offend some people.
